Dr. Claire Gunderson, DVM, has been caring for pets in both general practice and emergency medicine for the past nine years. Originally from Long Island, she was inspired to become a veterinarian by following in the footsteps of her older sister, turning a lifelong love of animals into a rewarding career. Dr. Gunderson earned her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before attending Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She especially enjoys emergency medicine and neurology and is passionate about helping dogs, cats, and avian patients live their healthiest lives. When she’s not at the hospital, Dr. Gunderson loves spending time with her husband, Dan, and their furry family—Wheeler, an Australian Cattle Dog; Morty, a Flat-Coated Retriever; and Rue, a tiny black cat. In her free time, you’ll often find her playing ultimate frisbee, skiing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
